　　From July 15th to August 5th, dARTex presents a solo exhibition with ink and brush paintings on paper by artist Xie Xiaoze.

　　Through the means of ink and brush painting, Xie Xiaoze reinterprets photos of political news we often see. By using the simple and minimal characteristics of ink and brush painting, his art provides us with a new vision on how to look at these images we were so familiar with.

　　The opening takes place on Saturday 14th July at 15.00.
　　Exhibition period: July 14th till August 5th, 2007.

　　Xie Xiaoze was born in Guangdong, China 1966 and now lives and works in Pennsylvania, USA and Beijing, China. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in several countries. “Xie Xiaoze is objective and cool-headed in his works while deliberately avoiding the lyrical qualities in traditional Chinese ink painting. His work represents a new way of looking at contemporary images and it fills the niche of ‘ink painting on politics’ in the field of experimental ink painting.” (Xia Kejun)

　　dARTex [The Danish Art Exchange] is the platform for artistic dialogue between China and Denmark. As an independent venue, it hosts contemporary art exhibitions and events mainly produced by Danish or Chinese artists.

　　dARTex is operated by The Danish Cultural Institute in Beijing. It receives support from The Royal Danish Embassy and First Travel.
