第11屆伊斯坦布爾雙年展將于2009年9月12日-11月8日舉行，主題來自于布萊希特八十年前所譜寫的《三分錢歌劇》第二幕結(jié)尾的唱詞 “是什么讓人類還活著？”。此次雙年展將由一支來自薩格勒布的策展團(tuán)隊What, How & for Whom / WHW主持策劃，團(tuán)隊由四位女策展人Ana Devic，Natasa Ilic，Sabina Sabolovic和Ivet Curlin組成。
UCCA很榮幸得邀請到了WHW團(tuán)隊中的Ana Devic和Ivet Curlin兩位策展人與觀眾分享此次伊斯坦布爾雙年展背后的策展故事，理念及其理論框架，歡迎參加！
此次WHW策展團(tuán)隊在中國的調(diào)研由ArtHub贊助。ArtHub是非營利性的基金會，致力于在中國乃至亞洲其他國家推廣當(dāng)代藝術(shù)實踐。
WHW團(tuán)隊的北京部分的調(diào)研由BAO Atelier的畢月（Beatrice Leanza）合作協(xié)調(diào)，并由尤倫斯當(dāng)代藝術(shù)中心和3plus1bedrooms支持。
"What Keeps Mankind Alive?" 11th International Istanbul Biennale Curators in Beijing

The 11th International Istanbul Biennial will take place between 12 September - 8 November 2009 and takes its title, "What Keeps Mankind Alive?" from the closing song of the second act of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera, written 80 years ago. The curators of the upcoming Istanbul Biennial are the members of What, How & for Whom / WHW, a Zagreb based collective made up of four women: Ana Devic, Natasa Ilic, Sabina Sabolovic and Ivet Curlin.
Join us at UCCA on Wednesday, March 18 from 5 to 7 pm, for a presentation and open discussion with curators Ana Devic and Ivet Curlin about their ongoing practice and the critical framework behind the 2009 Istanbul Biennial.
The curatorial research of WHW in China is graciously sponsored by ArtHub, a non-profit foundation supporting contemporary art creation in China and rest of Asia.
