當(dāng)今的世界是一個(gè)全球一體化的命運(yùn)共同體。人類進(jìn)入了一個(gè)前所未有的互聯(lián)網(wǎng)信息時(shí)代。每個(gè)國(guó)家的發(fā)展,都是人類社會(huì)發(fā)展的一部分,也是國(guó)際發(fā)展中多邊關(guān)系的構(gòu)成之一。這是冷戰(zhàn)結(jié)束之后,人類要面對(duì)的又一個(gè)新時(shí)代。因此,對(duì)話、對(duì)峙、對(duì)等、對(duì)比、對(duì)壘,以及交流、交換、交互、交手、交戰(zhàn),都是不斷變化著的世界秩序。

中央美術(shù)學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)范迪安教授為該展覽撰文:“此次展覽以‘貿(mào)藝戰(zhàn)’為題,既讓人有所費(fèi)解又讓人有新的感悟。毫無(wú)疑問(wèn),全球貿(mào)易的對(duì)峙與交融已經(jīng)構(gòu)成一種動(dòng)態(tài)的和相互轉(zhuǎn)化的關(guān)系,藝術(shù)的語(yǔ)言和現(xiàn)實(shí)的存在也表現(xiàn)為這樣的關(guān)系。兩位藝術(shù)家站在獨(dú)特的角度感知全球經(jīng)濟(jì)的風(fēng)云際會(huì),從貿(mào)易關(guān)系的合作與對(duì)抗、順暢與緊張等各種狀態(tài)中感受歷史與當(dāng)下的交集,試圖以藝術(shù)的方式表達(dá)現(xiàn)實(shí)的體驗(yàn),從而貫穿起從藝術(shù)到現(xiàn)實(shí)的一個(gè)新視角。他們的這種觀念也說(shuō)明,當(dāng)代藝術(shù)發(fā)展到今天,有兩個(gè)方面最為值得重視,一是藝術(shù)家從自身真實(shí)的經(jīng)歷體驗(yàn)出發(fā),而不是照搬其他已有的形式、風(fēng)格、符號(hào)甚至程式化的圖繪語(yǔ)言,二是在藝術(shù)表達(dá)中打通個(gè)人生命體驗(yàn)與社會(huì)文化現(xiàn)實(shí)之間的關(guān)聯(lián),尤其在當(dāng)今全球化、信息化快速發(fā)展的時(shí)代,藝術(shù)家更應(yīng)該以純粹的自我敏感于世界的變化,使藝術(shù)成為在內(nèi)涵上與現(xiàn)實(shí)關(guān)聯(lián)的載體。在這個(gè)意義上,伊恩·霍華德的“拓”與邢俊勤的“繪”,都是一種關(guān)于藝術(shù)與現(xiàn)實(shí)關(guān)系的隱喻?!?/p>

從農(nóng)耕文明血緣族群體系演變成工業(yè)文明所帶來(lái)的契約精神價(jià)值觀,再發(fā)展到今天的后現(xiàn)代文明,人類迎來(lái)了普世命運(yùn)共同體。于是,探索和平發(fā)展、互惠互利、平等共贏的現(xiàn)代化文明體系是全人類的新課題。我們離不開貿(mào)易,也不能缺失藝術(shù),或許還不能完全避免戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)。藝術(shù)就成為貿(mào)易和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的中間地帶,她可能是調(diào)和劑,可能是潤(rùn)滑劑,也可能是稀釋戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的溫柔之水,更可能是和平發(fā)展與和平貿(mào)易的催化劑。立足這樣的站位,創(chuàng)建一個(gè)人類文化交流軌道,用交流、互助、博愛的精神,建構(gòu)地球家園,就是藝術(shù)家創(chuàng)作的重要組成部分。如果在眾多的貿(mào)易交換中買賣的是藝術(shù)品而不是軍火,那該是多么美好的時(shí)光。當(dāng)然,藝術(shù)帶給人類創(chuàng)造力的影響和啟示更具有彌久悠長(zhǎng)的意義。

The world today is a globalized community of one destiny. Human beings are living in an unprecedented era of information via the internet. The development of each country is an integral part of the development of a human society and one of the components of multilateral relations in international development. This is new era for mankind after the end of the cold war. Thus, dialogue, interaction, comparison about equality and exchange as well as, confrontation and possible combat are all the forms of the changing world order.

Fan Di'an, the president of Centural Academy of Fine Art quotes, "this exhibition titled Trade Art War might lead the viewing public to be both puzzled and come away possessing new understandings. There is no doubt that the confrontation and integration of world-wide trade has already constituted a moving and transformative global relationship, and as such, this reality should command artistic expression, an artistic response. The two artists perceive the global economy from a unique perspective and represent the intersection between history and the present from the various states of cooperation and confrontation, between ‘smooth sailing’ and tension in trade relations. In an attempt to express their felt experience through the form of art, they are building a new perspective, from art back to newly understood reality. Their approach also indicates that in the development of contemporary art today, two aspects are highlighted. One aspect is that the creative work of an artist should be based on his or her own experiences and feelings, rather than copy the already-made forms, styles, symbols, even graphic languages of other artists or eras. The other, is to make the connection between one’s own living experience, one’s values and the larger reality of a societal and cultural context. This is particularly important in an era of ever faster development in terms of globalization and ubiquitous information technology. Artists therefore should be hyper-sensitive to changes in the world and make art the carrier of connotation and meaning. In this sense, Ian Howard’s “rubbing” and Xing Junqin’s “painting” are each a metaphoric vehicle to progress the relationship between art and reality. "

From the ethnic group structure of agricultural civilizations to the international contractual values brought about by industrial civilizations, and up to today's post-modern civilization, human beings have received the universal community of a singular destiny. Therefore, the exploration of peaceful development, mutual benefit, equality and a win-win outcome from our global civilization system is a new and pressing topic for all mankind. We cannot live without trading, neither without art, perhaps we cannot avoid conflict and war altogether. However, art might be the middle zone between trade and war. It can be a mediator, it can be a lubricant, it can be a calming influence to dilute the likelihood of war, it can be a catalyst for peaceful development and trade. From such a perspective, it is an important role for artists to create a cultural exchange, a dialogue track, for mankind to build relations on earth with the spirit of communication, mutual assistance and fraternity. What a good time it would be to trade art rather than arms. Of course, this influence and enlightenment through art, expressing human beings’ essential creativity has a long and lasting significance.
